The mandate is a substantial one. The Centre of Excellence Lead owns a team of roughly 100 people, based mainly across Gurugram and Chennai, supporting procurement and third party risk management activity for the bank as a whole. The team spans four broad areas: procurement professionals who negotiate and execute deals on the bank's behalf, liaising directly with UK-based stakeholders; an operations group responsible for process adherence, supplier data quality and contract remediation; a control-facing function ensuring that both the procurement process and the associated reporting and administration meet PRA and FCA expectations; and a technology group managing the supply chain IT estate and delivering change into it.The point I would emphasise most is that this is not a pure operations leadership role. Genuine procurement credibility sits at its centre, ideally earned in a regulated environment, alongside a record of process improvement and real depth in procurement systems, particularly viewed through a recent transformation lens.
